Real Estate Notary in Sacramento & Placer Counties
Mobile California notarization for prepared deeds and other standalone real estate documents in Sacramento and Placer Counties.
Book CA Notary’s Mobile Notary service brings a commissioned California notary to an agreed location for an individual real estate document appointment. The notary verifies the signer’s identity and performs the requested notarial act when California requirements are met.
Mobile Notary Service for Real Estate Documents
This page is for standalone real estate documents that need a notarial act, such as an acknowledgment or jurat. Tell us what document is being signed, how many signers need to appear, and where the appointment is requested. The document provider or receiving party—not the notary—should tell you whether notarization is required and which notarial act to request.
Real Estate Documents Commonly Presented
Examples may include grant deeds, quitclaim deeds, deeds of trust, and other instruments affecting real property. Some appointments may also involve related affidavits or authorizations. These examples do not determine whether your document requires notarization. Book CA Notary does not prepare or select documents. Lender- or title-directed loan packages are a separate signing workflow.
Have a Real Estate Document Ready to Sign?
When requesting an appointment, provide the document type, number of signers, location, desired date and time, and any instructions from the title company, escrow company, attorney or document provider. We can then discuss scheduling for the requested appointment.
California Journal Thumbprint Requirement
California requires the signer’s right thumbprint in the notary journal for a deed, quitclaim deed, deed of trust, other document affecting real property, or power of attorney. If the right thumbprint is unavailable, California law provides alternatives and requires a journal notation; specified exceptions also apply. This is a journal requirement, not an extra signature on the document. See the California 2026 Notary Public Handbook.
What to Have Ready
Please have the complete document and all associated pages, each required signer, identification that meets California requirements, and any signing instructions from the document provider. Do not leave required fields incomplete. If you are coordinating multiple signers or locations, include that information when you contact us. An incomplete document or unmet notarial requirement may prevent the notary from proceeding.
Acknowledgments and Real Estate Documents
For an acknowledgment, the signer personally appears, establishes identity and acknowledges signing the document. For a jurat, the signer signs in the notary’s presence and takes an oath or affirmation. The document provider or receiving party must specify the required act. Notarization confirms the notarial act; it does not establish the document’s truth, accuracy, legal effect, ownership information or recordability.
Real Estate Notary vs. Loan Signing Agent
This page covers standalone real estate documents and appointments for the requested notarial act. A lender- or title-directed loan package is a separate Loan Signing Agent workflow with its own documents and instructions. If you have a loan package, tell us when you inquire so we can discuss the appropriate service.
We Notarize — We Don't Prepare Real Estate Documents
Book CA Notary performs the requested California notarial act. We do not draft, select or explain real estate documents; decide how property should be transferred; determine ownership interests; or provide legal or tax advice. Ask the attorney, title or escrow company, lender, recorder or document provider about the transaction, document wording and recording requirements.
Serving Sacramento & Placer Counties

Real Estate Notary FAQs

Yes, if the document is complete, a California notarial act is requested, and the legal requirements for that act can be met. The signer must appear in person and establish identity.
- Can you notarize a quitclaim deed?
Yes, a quitclaim deed may be presented for notarization. California requires the signer’s thumbprint in the notary journal for instruments affecting real property, subject to the requirements and exceptions in law.
- Can you prepare a deed for me?
No. Book CA Notary does not draft deeds or decide which document you should use. Please ask your attorney or document provider.
- Do I need a thumbprint?
California requires a journal thumbprint for deeds, quitclaim deeds, deeds of trust, other documents affecting real property, and powers of attorney, with specific alternatives and exceptions. The notary will follow the applicable rule during the appointment.
- Can you handle a full mortgage or loan package?
This page is for standalone real estate documents. A lender- or title-directed package uses a separate loan-signing workflow; tell us what you have when requesting an appointment.
- Can the notary tell me where or how to transfer the property?
No. Questions about ownership, transfer method, wording, legal effect or recording should go to your attorney, title or escrow company, or document provider.
